Thirty L.A. section officials of Cox’s Bazaar transferred

The corruption of the Land Acquisition section of Deputy Commissioner’s Office of Cox’s Bazaar came to light after the arrest of a surveyor Wasim Khan by Rapid Action Battalion(RAB) with more than one crore money from his possession from a house in Cox's Bazaar. The Land Ministry became alert that prompted the ministry to take punishment. The ministry has given orders for immediate transfer of 30 officials of LA section with immediate effect as punishment.

In a message signed by Land Ministry Public Relations Officer Syed Md. Abdullah Al Nahyan it was confirmed that the officers were transferred on Thursday February 27 at the behest of Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury. Recently, a surveyor of the Land Acquisition Branch of the Cox's Bazaar District Administration was arrested by the enforcing members with huge sum of money. Two other surveyors are still fleeing and efforts are underway to arrest them. In addition, RAB-15 informed they have found an affiliated syndicate for bribery transactions.

The message further states that these officers will be discharged from the current workplace by March 5. Otherwise on that day they will be considered as stand release.

It is to be mentioned here that in the afternoon of last February 19, the surveyor Wasim was arrested from the Baharchara and Tarabanyarchara areas of Cox's Bazar with Taka 93 lakhs. From there, a check of Taka 15 lakh and various bribe-taking documents were seized.
