No bus to ply on Dhaka-Kolkata route from Friday

Dhaka: Bus services on Dhaka-Kolkata route are closed from Friday (March 13). The Indian government has banned entry into India from March 13 to prevent the spread of coronavirus. In view of this, the bus owners on the international route have made such decisions.

Shyamlankar Ghosh Rakesh, owner of Shyamoli NR Transport confirmed the information to barta24.com on Thursday (March 12).

He said the last bus will leave for Kolkata tonight (Thursday). No other buses, including the passenger will be able to cross the border of India since Friday (March 13). That's why we've been shutting down service from tomorrow(Friday).

He added that all buses on Dhaka-Kolkata and Dhaka-Siliguri routes will be under this announcemnent.

He said that travellers who purchased tickets in advance after March 12 will be able to go to the counter and can take back their money.

Meanwhile, no decision has not yet been taken to close the Kolkata-bound Maitri Express from Dhaka and Kolkata-bound Bandhan Express from Khulna, a railway official said.

The government of India has suspended the visas of the citizens of all countries of the world due to coronavirus. The suspension will start from 12 night of March 13 and will continue until April 15.
