All shops and public transports have been announced to remain shut down except medicine shops, raw materials, grocery stores in Shibchar upazilla of Madaripur district to prevent the transmission of the corona virus.
The decision was taken at an emergency view exchange meeting organized by the upazilla administration to prevent the Corona virus in Shibchar upazilla.
The meeting was held at the upazilla Parishad auditorium on Thursday (March 19) for about three hours. During the meeting, important decisions were taken to keep the upazilla coronavirus free.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Asaduzzaman said we have announced to shut down all shops and public transport except medicines, raw materials, grocery stores in Shibchar upazilla to prevent coronavirus. If lockdown is required, we will lock down according to the instruction of the ministry, the UNO said.
The decisions taken at the meeting were:
1. From today all the shops of Shibchar Upazilla Bazaar (excluding essential goods stores) will remain closed.
2. Public gatherings, marriages, rallies suspended.
3. All types of vehicles (except vans), including local buses, Nasimon, Karimon, will remain suspended.
Presided over by UNO Md. Asaduzzaman, Upazila Parishad Chairman Samsuddin Khan, Vice-Chairman (Women) Fahima Akhter, Shibchar Municipal Mayor Awlad Hossain Khan; , OC of Shibchar Police Station Abul Kalam Azad, Upazila Jubo League President Elias Pasha, Jubo League general secretary Khairuzzaman and all Upazilla Officials of various departments were present in the meeting.
