District Administrations takes all out measures to combat corona

Faridpur District Administration has taken a comprehensive program which includes various protective and preventive measures to combat deadly coronavirus that has engulfed the 199 countries across the world.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Faridpur Atul Sarkar described that here in this district things are perfectly alright in this terrifying situation of the country emerging from coronavirus. Atul Sarkar said to barta24.com that several precautionary measures have already taken since the outbreak of the pandemic disease in the country following the instructions of the government to combat Covid-19.

He outlined the measures as follows: - Constant surveillance throughout the district, successful implementation of the policy of ‘ stay home and be safe’, cleanliness drives, ensuring sanitation and motivational campaigns through distribution of leaflets, mikings and other media.

Atul Sarkar said a number of surveillance teams formed with military and civil personnel that are working across the district. Hand sanitizers and masks have been supplied to the vulnerable people. Isolations units have been set up in all district and upazilla government hospitals.

Necessary PPEs and other related equipments were being made available to all sections of health workers. Germicides are being done on all major roads and thoroughfares on regular basis. Meanwhile all business outlets except kitchen markets, food shops and medicine shops have been shut down, Atul said.

DC said that about 300 vulnerable people will be given food aid today (Saturday). The district administration, police administration and Pourashavas are working hand in hand to check infection of corona.

Earlier measures were taken for the expatriate Bangladeshis returning from abroad with necessary home quarantine, DC said. He said that 4453 expatriates have arrived from 44 countries. Of thenm 2140 people have already crossed 14 days. More 218 have finished their home quarantine, so they were declared free. Till yesterday 1048 expatriates are in home quarantine.

On the other hand, Jatiyo Sangsad member from Faridpur-3(Faridpur Sadar) and Chairman of parliamentary standing committee on LGRD and Cooperatives ministry & Awami League  advisory council member Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain on Friday (March 27) of his own distributed 500 PPEs for health workers including doctors, nurses and related personnel. While distributing the PPEs Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossain said that the situation in this district is very much under control and urged upon all to work together in any adverse situation.
