No new infection in the country during last twenty four hours

No new coronavirus (COVID-19) positive case was detected in the last 24 hours while 4 have recovered. Of the total 48 infected, so far 15 have recovered, Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) director Prof. Dr. Meerjady Sabrina Flora said on Saturday (March 28) in online video press briefing at her Mahakhali office.

She said in the last 24 hours our hotline received 3450 calls. All calls were related to Covid-19. We collected a sample of 42 people. We have so far collected a total of 1068 people. No one was infected anew. There are 47 in isolation.

Regarding the patients returning home she said those who recovered were in the hospital for a total of 14 days. They have been treated on the basis of signs and symptoms. They were sick for 8-16 days. There was fever and cough in them. Of them, 9 are male and 6 are female. The average age is 29 years. Minimum 2 years.

She said that one of the patients who was recovered had kidney problems. We had arranged dialysis. He is well now. One of the people who recovered healed during last last 24 hours had high blood pressure who was given appropriate treatment. He is also well now. The rest had no problems.

The IEDCR director said the government has taken several steps to prevent Covid-19 infection. If people cooperate, we will get rid of coronavirus. That's why everyone has to be aware.

Mirzadi Sabrina Flora said, I urge you to deal with the corona patients with utmost sympathy and don’t’ try to hurt them socially.
