Nine afresh have been infected and two died from corona in last 24 hours in the country, said IEDCR director Prof. Dr. Meerjady Sabrian Flora.
She said this in an online live press briefing on coronavirus situation of the country on Saturday (April 4).
She said that 553 samples were collected in the last 24 hours. Out of which 443 samples were tested. 9 new people have been infected. Of these, 8 were identified in the IEDCR. One is outside of Dhaka. Two died in the last 24 hours. One person is 90 years old and another 60 years old. Both of them had different diseases also.
The IEDCR director said that so far the total number of coronavirus patients in the country is 70. In total, 8 died. In the last 24 hours, four have recovered. A total of 30 have returned home after recovery. At present, 32 people are under treatment.
She said that 5 persons were infected through contact with people who had infection among the new 9. 2 came from abroad. How the other two were infected is being investigated. Of the infected 2 are children, three are in the age group of 20-30 years, two are in the age group of 30-50 years, one is within 60 years and another is 90 years old.
