Police to be tougher to enforce social distancing in Dhaka city

Dhaka Metropolitan Police will be tougher from next morning to ensure social distancing in Dhaka city.

The decision was taken during a meeting with Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Shafiqul Islam and senior police officers at the Dhanmondi residence of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Friday (April 17) night.

On the other hand at the directives of the Prime Minister it was decided to form relief committees in the 139 wards led of Dhaka metropolis (64 in DNCC and 75 in DSCC) led by Awami League.

Each ward committee decided to include one policeman. It was discussed that relief goods would be   distributed through coordination’

South Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League president Abu Ahmed Mannafi, general secretary Humayun Kabir and North Dhaka metropolitan Awami League president Sheikh Bazlur Rahman and general secretary SM Mannan Kachi and other leaders attended the meeting that lasted about 1-30 hours.
