Dedicated Corona Isolation Hospital has been inaugurated to treat corona patients in Rangpur. In this hospital corona patients of eight districts of Rangpur Division will receive medical care.
On Sunday (April 19) at 11-30 am the dedicated corona isolation hospital was inaugurated at the newly constructed Children's Hospital, adjacent to Rangpur Sadar Hospital.
Rangpur Divisional Commissioner KM Tariqul Islam formally inaugurated the dedicated Corona Isolation Hospital.
Divisional Health Director Dr. Amin Ahmed Khan, Deputy Commissioner Asib Ahsan, Rangpur Medical College Principal Dr. AKM Noor-Un-Nabi Laizu, Director of Rangpur Medical College Hospital. Faridul Islam Chowdhury, district Civil Surgeon Hiramba Kumar Roy and other officials were present.
The newly constructed 3-storied 100 bed, Rangpur Children's Hospital will be used as a dedicated Corona Isolation Hospital at this emergency period. Rangpur Children's Hospital was awaiting inauguration for a long time after its construction. But now it has been converted to dedicated Corona Isolation Hospital for pandemic corona disease.
According to sources, the hospital has 10 ICU beds and two residences for doctors and one for the nurses. Eleven doctors and 64 assisting employees carry out full-time duties
All the ICUs have the ventilator facilities including other modern equipments in th hospital. In the first phase, the operation was started with 10 ICU beds and 10 ventilators, but it will be upgraded to 50 in phases. Separate zones have been kept in the hospital, including green zone and red zone.
