He added that there could be thunderstorm in different districts and regions of the country in the next one week. At this time the temperature may decrease a bit. However, it may be very damp hot.

According to several international cyclone forecasting websites, it may rush towards Khulna region of Bangladesh at a speed of 180 to 200 kmph. However, as it moves towards the ground, its speed may decrease a bit. It could hit the Sundarbans in Khulna next Wednesday (May 20). At the same time it will affect Satkhira and Jessore.

According to the Meteorological Department, the cyclone Amphan is 1355 km south-southwest of Chittagong seaport, 1290 km south-southwest of Cox's Bazaar seaport, 1295 km south-southwest of Mongla seaport and 1270 km south-southwest. It may become more concentrated and move northwest. Within 48 km of the cyclone center, the maximum continuous wind speed is 50 km per hour which is increasing up to 60 km in the form of gusts or gusty winds. As a result, the seaports have been asked to lower the remote warning signal number 1 and hoist the remote warning signal number 2 instead.

At the same time, all fishing boats and trawlers stationed in the North Bay and the deep sea have been asked not to navigate in the deep sea. Besides, signal number 1 has also been asked to be displayed at the river port.

According to the river port warning, temporary gusty winds of 60-70 kmph may blow over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Bogra and Tangail areas. At the same time there may be rain or thunderstorms. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display the No. 2 naval warning signal.
