Rajshahi: A police sub-inspector (SI) named Mosharraf Hossain, 57, died at Rajshahi Christian Mission Hospital after infecting from coronavirus.
He died at around 10:30 pm on Friday (May 22). Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) Deputy Director Dr. Saiful Ferdous confirmed the information.
He said Mosharraf Hossain’s native home is located in Chandipur area of Rajshahi metropolis. However, he was working in Naogaon. On Friday, he arrived at RMCH and said he has tested positive of corona and wanted to be admitted.
He was later admitted to Christian Mission Hospital in Rajshahi for corona disease and as a suspected patient. He died at around 10:30 pm while undergoing treatment there. Now his samples will be collected again for testing, he said.
Naogaon Superintendent of Police (SP) Abdul Mannan Mia said Mosharraf Hossain was serving in the Naogaon Range Reserve Force (RRF). He has been at home since May 16.
He added, I heard that his sample tested positive in the lab of RMC Hospital on Thursday. However, I came to know the news of his death through journalists. We are investigating.
