Government to recruit more 2000 docs to tackle corona

Dhaka: The government will recruit 2,000 more doctors to deal with the corona crisis. However, when the appointment will be made has not been finalized yet.


It is learned that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has verbally approved the appointment of two thousand more doctors during the ongoing corona situation. The recruitment process will start after the Ministry of Health sends a summary in this regard.


Convener of the media cell of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Additional Secretary of the Department of Health Services (Administration) Habibur Rahman Khan told Barta24.com that the Prime Minister has verbally approved the appointment of another 2,000 MBBS doctors. In a few days, we will send a summary of the appointment to the Prime Minister. After this the recruitment process will start. However, it is not yet known when the appointment will be made.


Earlier on April 25, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare had issued a letter to 2,000 doctors and 6,000 nurses along with the public administration. Following this, the government appointed 2,000 doctors and 5,054 nurses to carry out coronavirus treatment at various dedicated Covid-19 hospitals in the country. Appointed doctors joined their workplaces on May 12 May and nurses on May13.
