Although many patients complain that they do not receive treatment in private medical institutions, the organization of private medicals says that doctors are ready to give all kinds of treatment to the corona situation as part of life. They think that the problem will be solved any moment.
Patients complain that many doctors are having trouble getting treatment for general patients in addition to corona disease. There are also allegations of returning back many patients without giving any treatment. Some people are talking about the crisis of doctors and nurses even though they can be admitted to the medical college. In such a situation, the victims are demanding proper management in the private medical facilities.
But private medicals say doctors and nurses are also on the frontline fighter in the corona crisis. In all cases, it is not possible to accept the responsibility imposed on doctors and medical facilitators. However, even if there are some problems, they want to overcome them quickly. They claimed that they have already taken initiative in that.
Shahidul Islam, who works in a private company, has complained that he took his brother to a private medical center for general illness but was sent him back. He said that after his brother got pain in his lower abdomen last Saturday, he was taken to a private medical center and they were sent back. They were sent back because their brother had a cold allergy. He said, later he consulted a doctor online. Many have also complained of not getting treatment through various means including social media.
In the wake of such complaints from patients, the convener of the media cell of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Health Services (Administration) Habibur Rahman Khan told Barta24.com that there are a large number of doctors in the country and their treatment needs strict monitoring in case of any complaint. It is not possible to do so many private medical monitoring on a regular basis. However, no one can be made to stand on the fence of crime in a hurry. If anyone officially complains to us, action can be taken. It is not possible to solve all the problems including corona treatment in a hurry; in this case it is not possible to impose a lot on private medical if you want. They asked us for more time. They are solving the problem as much as possible.
Contacting a few private medicals, it is learned that doctors and nurses are performing shift based duties. In that case, after a few days of continuous duty all the facilities are being ensured, including keeping them in the hotel in quarantine. As a result, where one doctor was needed earlier, there are now three. And many patients are coming to the medicals with some problems including common cold and fever. In that case they are being asked to take treatment at home. They also said that patients are being asked not to come to the hospital if there is no complex problem.
MA Mubin Khan, president of the Bangladesh Private Medical College Hospital Association, told Barta24.com that doctors and nurses are constantly working at risk, they are frontline fighters. They are going through treatment all the time. However, it is not right to blame the entire medical community for one or two isolated incidents. The problems that have arisen in the field of treatment are being solved day by day. Everyone has to work with Corona as part of life now. Most of the doctors but now they are going through the treatment by ensuring that safety.
He said the overall picture is not the same as before. The problem is being solved as the days go by. The government has directed the treatment of covid and non-covid patients in all medicals. But our hospitals do not have infection control system like abroad. So treatment of covid and non-covid will cause some problems. If there is a patient in a medical complex with heart, kidney and other complications, if the corona is spread, but it might be fallen in a terrible condition.
However, the allegation of not giving treatment may be against four or five medicals. Why the government is not taking action against them? We are not interfering in their affairs.
Bangladesh Private Clinic and Diagnostic Owners Association President ABM Harun told Barta24.com, ‘We are trying to ensure the treatment of general patients and in the case of corona treatment we want to give 10,000 seats. We have to discuss more with the government. This can only be done if the doctors can be confirmed with the ancillary issues including the hotel accommodation.’
