The installation work of the 31st span of Padma Bridge along the middle of Shimulia-Kanthalbari river channel has started. Movement of all types of ferries, launches, speedboats, trawlers through Shimulia-Kanthalbari channel will remain completely suspended from 11 am to 6 pm today (Wednesday). The 31st span will be set on the 25th and 26th pillars.

Meanwhile China Major Bridge Engineering Company (MBEC), a Chinese firm, is working on the construction of the main bridge and Sino Hydro Corporation, another company of China is working on river training. The construction work of Padma Bridge started in December 2014.
