Case filed against daily Inquilab editor under DSA

Dhaka: A case has been filed against AMM Bahauddin, editor of the daily Inquilab, under the Digital Security Act (DSA). Barrister Soumitra Sardar filed the case as a plaintiff.


The case was filed at Gulshan police station on Saturday (June 27). Gulshan Police Station OC (Investigation) Aminul Islam confirmed the matter to Barta24.com.


The OC said the case was filed under the Digital Security Act (2018) against Bahauddin, editor of the daily Inqilab and the concerned reporter for publishing news insulting the Prime Minister, the administration and HT Imam, the Prime Minister's adviser.


It is learned that in a commentary report titled 'Remove HT Imam' was published. The report also linked HT Imam, an adviser to the Prime Minister, with Kazi Shahid Islam Papul, an MP from Laxmipur-2 constituency who was detained in Kuwait on human trafficking charges.
