Government imposes restrictions on public movements

The government issued an order extending its restrictions on public activities and movements across the country until August 3 to contain spread of coronavirus pandemic as an existing nationwide control measure of identical nature is set to expire this evening.

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain confirmed the matter to Barta24.com on Tuesday (June 30) night.

He said that a notification is being issued in this regard. Now the shops and shopping malls are open from 10 am to 4 pm but can be kept open from tomorrow till 7 pm. And the decision of the local government department regarding the sacrificial animal market will be followed.

Earlier, in the beginning of March, the first case of corona was identified in the country. Later, as the number of corona cases increased, the government declared a general holiday from March 26 to April 4. After that the holiday continues to increase. According to the latest announcement, till May 30 was general holiday. Later, from 31st May to 15th June, a limited number of offices were opened in compliance with the health rules and public transport was introduced. This arrangement was later extended till June 30. That term is ending today.
