Dhaka: In the case of the fake coronavirus test, chairman of the JKG and the cardiac surgeon of the National Heart Institute Dr. Sabrina Arif Chowdhury has been arrested by Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Earlier on Sunday (July 12) at noon, she was called to the Tejgaon Division DC(Police) office for preliminary questioning. She was shown arrested after about two hours of interrogation.
Tejgaon Zone Assistant Commissioner of Police Mahmud Khan confirmed her arrest to Barta24.com.
Jobeda Khatun Public Health Care (JKG Healthcare) agreed to collect free samples on behalf of the health directorate. They were collecting samples from home for Taka 5,000 to Taka 8,600 and were giving false reports. There was a hue and cry across the country over the fraud of JKG Health Care, which delivered the report without testing for coronavirus. Arif Chowdhury, the chief executive of JKG, the mastermind of the scam, has already been arrested. One of Arif's associates in this fraud is his wife and the chairman of JKG Healthcare Dr. Sabrina Chowdhury.
Since the news of the fraud was spread. Dr. Sabrina claimed that she has no relationship with JKJ. She even advertised in newspapers.
Meanwhile Dr. Sabrina Chowdhury has been placed under suspension by the National Heart Institute for her alleged involved in the fake corona test report scam.
