Dhaka: President Abdul Hamid's younger brother and Assistant Private Secretary to the President freedom fighter Abdul Hye died of corona (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun).
He died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka around 1.30pm on Friday (July 17).
Abdul Hye's death has been confirmed by his maternal nephew Abul Khair Ujjwal.
He said that when the symptoms of corona appeared, Abdul Hye tested the sample on July 2 and was found positive. On July 5, he was admitted to the isolation unit of Dhaka CMH. He was later taken to the ICU. He died at around 1.30 pm on Friday.
Abdul Hye is a former Assistant Professor at Freedom Fighter Abdul Haq Government College in Mithamin upazilla of Kishoreganj. He was living in Dhaka with his family.
Earlier, Abdul Hye's son businessman Saif Mohammad Farabi was infected by Corona. He is currently healthy.
