Dhaka: Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said her government is trying its best to provide food to the victims of the coronavirus epidemic and floods. On Sunday (August 2), the Awami League's affiliated Krishak League inaugurated the voluntary blood donation program in the month of mourning and officially launched the month of mourning. The Prime Minister said this at that time. In the morning, Bangladesh Krishak League voluntarily organized plasma-blood donation program, distributed Eid gifts, seasonal fruits and health care items among orphans on the occasion of National Mourning Day at Bangabandhu Museum Bhaban premises at Dhanmondi-32.
At the beginning of the ceremony, a floral wreath was laid at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. After that Milad and Doa mahfil was organized. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina addressed the function as the chief guest through video conferencing from Ganobhaban. Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader spoke as a special guest in a video conference from his official residence.
Besides, Awami League presidium member Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim and Health Secretary Dr. Rokeya Sultana soke on the occasion. Krishak League President Krishibid Sameer Chandra presided over the function while General Secretary Advocate Umme Kulsum Smriti MP moderated the function. Krishak League leader Bishwanath Sarkar Bittu conducted the program.
The Prime Minister said the government has stood by the helpless people in this time of corona pandemic and floods. Our government is trying its best to give food to the unemployed, poor, orphans and helpless.
At this time in corona, Awami League and allied organizations are standing by the people and doing good work. She called upon the leaders and workers of the party and allied organizations to stand by the flood-hit people.
Sheikh Hasina said, our goal is to give people a better life. Our government is working to implement the ideals of the father of the nation. In this month I lost everyone, including my parents and brothers. I pray for the salvation of their souls.
