Awami League and the government should have understood in advance how far the quota reform movement can go without making a decision. There is a section of people who are angry with the government, so the nature of this movement will not be limited to the quota reform movement, there was no reason not to understand that except the stupidity called 'superstition' about suppressing the movement. Many expressed apprehension about this, myself being one of them. The common people had emotional support for the quota agitators. This innocent support arose less from a place of anger and mistrust of the government than of the quota reform movement.
It was not necessary to be very intelligent to understand that various anti-Awami organizations would sabotage the anti-government by capitalizing on the banner of the agitators. Direct experience of opposition to Ganajagran Manch, Hefazat rally, student movement for safe roads says so. Previous anti-government events have also proven that the organizational capacity of anti-government organizations, no matter how large, is almost nil. Their condition is like the moon spot of consonants, they do not have the ability to do anything independently except sitting on the shoulders of others. As a result, these organizations without organizational power have taken the opportunity of self-interest by squeezing the neck of the students like consonant moon dots. What they have done is not right, it is very wrong.
While doing anti-government work, they have carried out anti-state activities. The state has done a lot of damage. However, Awami League cannot avoid the responsibility of this failure; because, they are responsible for the failure to build this movement to this stage. It was never meant to come to this stage. The idiom 'Hate Paanji Tumandhi' means to descend the complex path in order to have a simple solution. Awami League has done that. The solution to this problem was simple which could be solved in the bud.
The government may have thought of success in suppressing the Hefazat movement by applying the same tactics from the experience of suppressing the Hefazat movement. But he did not understand the simple calculation that the custody movement and this movement are not the same. All pro-independence forces were on the field simultaneously under the banner of Janjagran Manch during the Hefajat movement. They resisted all propaganda, machinations, sabotage etc. with their lives. At that time, the anti-independence forces could not compete in cyber warfare.
With the support of Ganajagran Manch, the Bengali community all over the world played an active role against their propaganda. As a result, online, offline and public opinion was in favor of the government. It is the characteristic of Awami League to throw it into the dust when the interests are saved. The Janjagran Manch was also thrown with various excuses. As a result, most of the cyber warriors of that time did not write for Awami League at this time, they remained silent. Now the cyber world has gone under the control of Awami opposition. At that time the Internet and cyber world was a blessing for Awami League, but now it has become a curse for Awami League due to the failure of its online activists and writers not to think of themselves. Because of this, the government had to protect its back by shutting down the Internet without getting a solution. By shutting down the internet, the government has done a lot of damage to the country. The amount of financial loss incurred by the country in these few days appears to be more than the financial loss during the nine months of the war of liberation. Awami League and pro-independence online activists and writers play a strong role in protecting the stability and resources of the country. According to me, Awami League's organs and affiliated organizations should be made timely. At present 'Online Activists and Writers League' should be formed on urgent basis. Online movement is now more important than street movement. Moreover, Ganajagran Manch is a shining example of online activists leading the way.
The road-blocks that were given to block the road during the public awakening stage had the words 'Road Blocked, Nation Reforms in Progress'. Ganajagran Manch gave Awami League a 'blank cheque' with a clear message for nation building. The message was - this country belongs to the liberation war, it will never be the anti-liberation war. Awami League could not use that blank check. By fighting for the Awami League, fighting for the liberation war, the organizers of the Ganajagran Manch have to go out of the country and live in asylum to save their lives during this Awami League. All those in the country are also undervalued. But the owner of Enam Medical was given a place in the cabinet to support the Rana Plaza accident.
After the Rana Plaza accident, Gana Jagran Manch workers also went to Savar and stood by the people affected by the accident. I myself was in Savar for three consecutive days. The controversial and bloody way in which the quota problem was solved was not desirable. A simple solution was desired and possible. The way it was solved now, it was solved by adding some more anger, frustration, fear, mistrust, disbelief etc. to the solution. They will not be easily eradicated; they will remain in the public mind. Later, even if there are minor problems, they will be exaggerated. Awami League could not solve the problem from the position of raising the flag of satisfaction by solving the problem. No matter what is said on the face, folds of thought can be seen on the forehead of Awami League.
The Awami League, which talked about the liberation war, had food resources, and stubbornly overconfidently took it to such a bloody level that the new generation and that liberation war lost its glory to some extent. As a result, it does not seem that the Awami League will gain food in the future just by talking about the liberation war. Because of this, Awami League's bureaucracy will increase. It is a big moral defeat for an old and experienced political party born from the masses. Although they had already suffered this moral defeat, now its thickness reached an unbreakable level.
Awami League is an experienced political party, moreover they are in government. It is a little surprising why the government did not get the information about the sabotage that had been done in advance. Let's say to the opportunistic consonant moon dots - you can't be successful by agitating like this. You are also responsible for the death of these people. It appears that it is a strategy of the Awami League to take controversial issues through the courts rather than directly themselves. The caretaker government which was the product of the Awami League movement, the Awami League has buried the caretaker government system through the courts. Awami League also adopted the same strategy on the quota issue. The responsibility of determining the quota is the executive department. It is supposed to go from the executive department to the legal department to the judicial department. The Awami League has already adopted the strategy of handing it over to the judiciary. As a result, at the beginning of the quota movement, Awami League's attitude was like - I don't know anything, I don't even know how to eat fried fish upside down, the court knows everything. However, the government can sit the court at any time of the 365 days and take a decision. It should have been done in this case as well.
There are many options to prove your love for the liberation war. Awami League has done many things. But the works could not be done in a way that could touch the feelings of the common people in this matter. So much has been done in the name of one's own clan that people are disgusted with it, and everything else is buried under this resentment. Corruption in government institutions, arbitrariness, indifference to people - etc. have eaten away all the achievements. To cover up this failure of 'not being able', the party became desperate to prove its love for the liberation war by keeping an extra quota of freedom fighters. Finally could not hold it. For the Awami League, this solution of the quota reform movement has become like food that they spit out and licked off their tongues.
Awami League suffered a disaster while doing BAKSAL, this time it suffered another loss due to intellectual sterility regarding quotas. Also, the best achievement of this country, the best sacrifice of 1971 and the devotion of the people towards the liberation war are questionable. This insistence of Awami League played a role in bringing down the names of Razakar and freedom fighters to the same rank to the new generation. Awami League is responsible for bringing the liberation war, the freedom fighter to such a place of disrespect. A 'sesamum oil seed' like the quota reform has turned into a 'palm' due to Awami League's stubbornness, obstinacy and intellectual failure. The way in which the Awami League claims credit for the solution that followed is intellectual sterility, senseless arrogance and shamelessness. Many mothers have empty chests. Who will be responsible for taking away many young lives? Taking responsibility - or what! The one who has gone, the one who has gone understands what the pain is!
In this country, the result of the student movement was the language movement and the freedom and liberation war in its continuation, the streets of Bengal are stained with the blood of that student. The young society which gave blood for independence in the British ruled territory, gave blood for language, gave blood to make East Pakistan Bangladesh, today the young society has to pay blood for a job in independent Bangladesh! Woe to the country's 53-year political leadership.
I don't know which leaders of Awami League put their subsidiary organization Chhatra League on the field with overconfidence. As a result of this short-sighted decision of theirs, people were upset, the leaders and workers of their affiliated organization also lost their lives, many mothers' chests were empty. No one, whoever goes, goes. Later though the Chhatra League was taken back home but before that this traditional organization suffered a terrible loss. As a result, there have been signs of leaving the party from the Chhatra League. Chhatra League central president's room has been vandalized. This broke the back of the Chhatra League. The way to be accepted by ordinary students became difficult. Even as a student organization, political activities should be carried out separately from the students. The heritage of the traditional Chhatra League has been questioned.
People without involvement at the grassroots level have to pay the price of personal and family proximity and making leaders in the quota of leaders. These intellectual barrennesses are the result of that. The current leadership has done a lot of damage to Awami League. The bloody history it created will be a dark chapter for the team. Current leadership leaves challenges for future leadership. The Awami League government could not even take the life of a corrupt person to suppress the corrupt by declaring zero tolerance. The youth on the streets demanding quota reforms has taken a fresh breath. The youth demanding quota reform is the enemy of Awami League, but the corrupt people who looted the country are not enemies of Awami League. They grow at the bottom of the clothe.
Create job security outside of government jobs. Every year 22 lakh young people enter the job market. On an average less than 3 thousand are getting jobs through the Public Service Commission, which is only 0.14%, remaining 99.86%. The youth who will do research today, will build the society is the youth today who is giving his life for the job. 53 years after independence!
