BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment in the hospital, is in critical condition, said Syed Mohammad Ibrahim, leader of the 12-party alliance and chairman of Kalyan Party. He said, accident can happen at any time.
He said this when he came to visit Khaleda Zia at Evacare Hospital in the capital on Sunday (October 15) morning.
At that time Begum Khaleda Zia's personal doctor, BNP Vice Chairman Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain welcomed the alliance leaders. When Khaleda Zia's condition deteriorated on Saturday night, doctors shifted her to the CCU. Currently Khaleda Zia's physical condition is somewhat stable and sleeping so the leaders could not see Begum Khaleda Zia.
One of the members of Begum Khaleda Zia's medical board, Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Shahabuddin Talukder briefed 12 party leaders regarding her health. Later, the spokesman of the 12-party alliance and one of the top leaders of the alliance, Chairman of Bangladesh Kalyan Party Major General Retired Syed Muhammad Ibrahim, Bir Pratik briefed the journalists.
Ibrahim quoted doctors as saying that Begum Khaleda Zia has been suffering from multiple diseases. Right now, Begum Khaleda Zia should be taken abroad for a liver transplant which is not possible in Bangladesh. Even if doctors are brought from abroad to perform the operation, it is not possible to give her any treatment in this country because there is no post management system in Bangladesh. Dr. Shahabuddin Talukder said that she had never seen a patient with strong morale like Begum Zia in his medical career. She has been fighting a physical battle since being infected with Corona.
Syed Muhammad Ibrahim appealed to the head of government to immediately send Begum Zia abroad for treatment. Appealing to the countrymen for Begum Zia's well-being, Ibrahim also said that if anything happens to Begum Zia, the present government will have to take responsibility for it.
