BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has been demanded to be released immediately by 67 eminent citizens including professors of different universities of the country.

BNP Chairperson's press wing official Shamsuddin Didar confirmed the matter on Friday (November 3).

In the statement, they said, the release of Mirza Fakhrul can play an important role in avoiding conflict in politics and bringing back the practice of democratic norms. We hope that by releasing him immediately, the government will pave the way for a peaceful, fair and participatory election.

It appears to us that Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is a firm believer in peaceful political activities, the informants said. Mirza Fakhrul's role is important and well-known for the peaceful conduct of political rivalry. We think that the release of Mirza Fakhrul can play an important role in avoiding conflict in politics and bringing back the practice of democratic norms.

The communicants also said that the nation today looks forward to the establishment of a democratic political society. The current Prime Minister herself has spoken about her commitment in this regard. Demands to do so through national elections under the supervision of an independent government within the next three months are growing.
