The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has given permission to hold a rally in Naya Paltan of the capital demanding the release of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and the introduction of a caretaker government on 19 conditions.
The DMP gave this permission in a letter issued to Saidur Rahman Mintu, who is currently in charge of the office and member of Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP on Thursday (May 9).
It is said in the letter that in view of the application, BNP has been allowed to hold a rally in front of the central office in Nayapaltan at 3 pm on May 10 subject to proper fulfillment of 19 conditions.
The conditions are-
1) This permit is not a permission to use the space, approval must be obtained from the concerned authorities for using the space.
(2) The terms and conditions specified in the permission to use the premises shall be duly observed.
(3) All assembly activities shall be confined within the approved space.
(4) Adequate number of volunteers (with visible ID cards) should be recruited under own management for security.
(5) Mic/Soundbox shall not be used outside the authorized place or on the side of the road.
(6) Projectors shall not be installed outside the permitted area or on the side of the road.
(7) People shall not assemble on streets or footpaths outside the authorized places.
(8) Mic/Speakers shall not be used during Azan, Namaz and other religiously sensitive times.
(9) No caricature shall be given or broadcast on any subject that may hurt religious sentiments.
(10) There shall not be any obstruction to the movement of vehicles and people including assembly on the road including the vicinity of the authorized place.
(11) No kind of sticks or rods shall be used to cover the carrying of flags, banners, festoons at the gathering place.
12) Acts which disturb law and order and public safety shall not be done.
13) No activities and speech against the state shall be allowed.
(14) No inflammatory speech shall be made or pamphlets distributed.
(15) Can't come to the assembly place with a procession causing public suffering.
16) Cars must be parked in designated parking areas, no cars can be parked on the main road.
(17) The organizing authority will be responsible if the law and order situation deteriorates at the place of assembly.
(18) If the said conditions are not duly complied with, this permission order shall be deemed to be canceled with immediate effect.
(19) The authority reserves the right to cancel this permission order without assigning any reason in public interest.
