The chief patron of Jatiyo Party Roushan Ershad, has appointed several leaders in the top post of the party. She appointed one of her son Rahegir Al Mahi Saad Ershad and another, as the co-chairmen, 11 Presidiums, vice chairman and joint secretary general.
The information was reported in a letter signed by Roushan Ershad on Wednesday (Jan. 15). However, nothing was told on behalf of Roushan about the letter.
According to JP constitution, she does not have the capacity to make such appointments. Even when it was tried to know why she had made such appointments, she was not available.
The Jatiyo Party Council was held on last December 28. GM Quader and Mashiur Rahman Ranga were elected Chairman and Secretary General respectively while Roushan Ershad was appointed as the chief patron through constitutional amendmnet.
In practice the post of chief patron is ornamental. If the chairman deems it necessary, he will seek her advice. Roushan and Saad were absent in the council.
After the council, GM Quader has appointed seven co-chairmen and eight additional secretaries. Of these, eleven Presidium members of the former committee were dropped from the new committee. Roshan Ershad appointed six of them as the members of the Presidium.
37 have been made members of the Presidium. Applications have been invited from the interested persons to be included in the Central Committee.
