Former Rajasthan spin bowler Vivek Yadav died today at age 36.
Yadav had been battling liver cancer over the last two years and recently contracted Covid-19. Former Rajasthan player Rohit Jhalani said that Yadav had been recovering from cancer and needed to visit the hospital regularly for chemotherapy.
“That’s when he tested positive for the virus. His health deteriorated soon,” Jhalani said. Yadav, who made his Rajasthan debut in 2008, played 18 First-Class matches for the state. He was part of Rajasthan’s Ranji Trophy-winning team in 2011.
Vivek Yadav played at Indian Premier League (IPL) during the 2012 season for Delhi Daredevils.
