Afghanistan was losing wickets from the start when they came to bat for the target of 289 runs given by the Kiwis. The successful opening pair of the previous match could not do much in this match. Due to which they were under pressure from the beginning. They lost 3 wickets within the team's 43 runs under the attack of the Kiwi bowlers.
