Garment worker murder case against Shakib Al Hasan

A murder case has been filed against cricketer Shakib Al Hasan for ordering the killing of garment worker Rubel in the anti-discrimination student movement.

Garment worker Rubel's father Rafiqul Islam filed the case at Adabar police station in the capital on Thursday (August 22). Shakib Al Hasan has been named as accused in the 28 in the statement of the case.

The address of the accused is Md. Shakib Al Hasan, Former Member of Parliament, Father: Mashroor Reza, village-Sahapara, Natun Bazar, Post Office: Magura, District: Magura.

The rest of the accused in the case of the murder of Garment worker Rubel are 156 people including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader. Apart from this, 500 unknown people have been accused.

DMP Adabar Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md. Nazrul Islam confirmed the case.

In the statement of the case, the plaintiff complained that on August 5, Rubel took part in a protest march on the ring road of Adabar. At that time, someone fired at the procession with the direct and indirect instructions and direct support of the accused. Rubel was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen and died on August 7.

It should be noted that Shakib Al Hasan was elected Member of Parliament from Magura-1 constituency in the 12th Jatiyo Sangsad on Awami League nomination. He is currently in Pakistan to play a two-match Test series for the Bangladesh national team.
