Dhaka: In this season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) will start on December 27. The draft for the season is October 16. BCB president Farooq Ahmed confirmed the matter to the media after the BCB meeting on Thursday. On the same day, he opened his mouth about Shakib Al Hasan's retirement.

There has been a change in the list of participating franchises in the BPL excluding the previous three franchises. Previous Cumilla Victorians, Dangerous Dhaka, Chattogram Challengers franchises are not staying in this year's BPL. Rajshahi is returning. Dhaka and Chattogram will be added to the new management.

BCB President Farooq Ahmed said in the media, 'Our three teams have been swapped in this year's BPL season. We interviewed the new arrivals. I tried to know why they want to come to BPL, why they want to invest. Their only demand was revenue share in BPL. We told them, not possible at the moment. But we will go to revenue share from next season. The BPL draft will be held on October 14 and the season will begin on December 27.

Meanwhile, Shakib has also sought assurance that he will not leave the country if he returns to Bangladesh to play the last Test match of his career. BCB said, if Shakib returns to the country, they do not have the authority to guarantee whether he will be able to go abroad or not. This assurance must come from the highest levels of government.

Farooq said on Thursday, "I am not an agency, police or RAB." Nor is BCB here. The issue of security must come from the side of the government. There are two types of security. One is - clearing from (leaving the country). It may have told you. Another is security from visitors. It is actually his decision to make. We can't really have a party here. It is not possible to say anything about this from the board at the moment. The board cannot provide security to anyone personally. That ability is not there.

On the subject of Shakib, Farooq Ahmed also said, 'If he wants to play the last Test, then like him, I also believe, Nothing like it. If so, that would be great. He has to decide the rest. Who will give the clearance? But we cannot give this clearance from our board. It must come from a higher level.'

Shakib announced his retirement from T20 cricket today. Shakib will go to America with his family. He will return in mid-October to play against South Africa in Dhaka. If he is not guaranteed to leave the country, he will not return. In this case the Kanpur Test will be the last Test for Shakib.

On August 22, a murder case was registered in his name at a police station in the capital. As a result, there is a fear that he will be arrested if he steps into the country. Even if that issue can be avoided, there is still a fear of falling into public anger. #
