BCB physically challenged team to play England Physical Disability T20

A 16-member Physically Challenged Cricket team of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will leave Dhaka for England on Friday (Aug 2) to play in the 5-nation Physical Disability T20 World Series beginning on Monday.

Five countries --Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, India and Pakistan --will battle for the tournament’s title from August 5 to 15 to mobilize support for the cricketers with disabilities.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is sponsoring the team while Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) extending its technical support since the formation of the team.

Drupam Patranab is named as the captain to lead the team, Masud Hasan remains as the team manager while Rashed Iqbal will coach the team.

The training camp of the physically Challenge cricketers is underway at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP) in Savar for the last few weeks to represent Bangladesh in the upcoming World Series.

Earlier in April this year, a 10-over friendship match was held in Dhaka between national cricketer and cricketers with disabilities to raise awareness for people with physical disabilities in continuation of ICRC’s endeavor to promote social inclusion through cricket.

In partnership with the Center for the Rehabilitation for the Paralysed (CRP), the ICRC Physical Rehabilitation Program helps people with physical disabilities regain their mobility, so they can lead a dignified life and play an active role in the society.

BCB team: Md RaselSikder, Md. Manir Hossain, Md Kazol Hossen, Md Monirujjaman, Md Alam Khan, Md Javed Vuian, Akbar Hossain, Md Imran Mahfuzur Rahman, SM Shaharia Shamim (wk),Drupam Patranabish (captain), Shariful Islam, Apurba Kumar Paul, Tanvirul Islam, Md Jahid Hasan and Md Mahbubul Alam.
