Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has sought time to make a decision on his retirement from one-day cricket, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hasan said on Saturday.
The BCB president disclosed this while making the announcement on the appointment of head coach at a press conference in the capital.
Nazmul Hasan said, “I have discussed the issue (retirement) with Mashrafe and he has requested us to give him two months to make the decision. The board has allowed him the time to decide.”
However, he didn’t clarify the details.
Earlier, the BCB chief announced that Russell Domingo has been appointed as the Bangladesh head coach with his contract set to run for two years.
Domingo, the former coach of South Africa, will start his stint with the Bangladesh team from August 21.
