BCB sat in an emergency meeting on Tuesday (Oct.22) at Mirpur. But the meeting could not bring any indication of recuperation from the turmoil that has engulfed Bangladesh cricket over the past two days following the boycott by cricketers.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan said that the boycott was unfortunate and that the whole incident might have been a part of conspiracy to destabilize Bangladesh cricket.

He made this remark at a crowded press briefing at the BCB headquarters in Mirpur. The BCB boss was reacting to the 11-point demand from the cricketers, which was announced at a press briefing on Monday (Oct.21). The players also said that they would refrain from all cricketing activities until their demands, mostly financial, were met.

Bangladesh is scheduled to start the camp for the upcoming series against India on Friday. Besides that, the ongoing National Cricket League, the country’s premier first-class competition, is scheduled to resume after a three-day break on Thursday (Oct.24).

But as the situation stands at the moment, there is no indication of the cricketers returning to the ground, putting the much-anticipated India tour under a cloud.

Bangladesh is scheduled to tour India later this month to play a three-match T20I series followed by two Tests. The series will start with the first T20I on November 3.

Although the BCB president said that most of the demands made by the cricketers could have been solved through discussion, he was more critical of the manner in which it was made public without the slightest prior knowledge of the board.

But he also did not offer any constructive solution to the stalemate during his nearly half-hour-long deliberations on the pressing issue.

The cricketers are not receiving the phones of the BCB men. So the situation is telling that the ice is not melting so easily.

The demands raised by the boycotting cricketers are not only their demands but it is right and legal claim. But the BCB men are not fulfilling those. So there is no light of at the end of the tunnel of uncertainity. On the other hand the India tour is coming nearer.

On Tuesday night BCB director Akram Khan informed barta24.com that I am really surprised that Mushfiq, Mahmudduallah Riyad, Sakib are not receiving my phone call even they made any call back. I don’t understand that why they don’t want to talk with us. If they don’t talk then how they problem will be solved.

The cricketers also are not receiving the phone calls of the journalists. They know well that BCB has kept their door open for discussion. However, the crusading cricketers are still unmovable to their previous position. They only want that BCB has accepted their 11 –point demand. Lat we know that then we will go back to our camp.

However as the time is passing the ‘Unsporting’ match relation between players and controllers is becoming more sour.

BCB must understand that it is a very big problem. There must be a solution but quick otherwise time passing might bring irreparable loss to Bangladesh cricket.
