International Cricket Council (ICC) has been working relentlessly to save the gentlemen’s game cricket from the grab of the gamblers who want to destroy the image of cricket through investing huge money. As part of that endeavor ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit(ACU) is working. ACU is closely monitoring the ace cricketers of the world whether the gamblers are contacting them.

Two years back like Shakib Al Hassan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Bangladesh team wicket keeper cum ace batsman also had to face the interrogation of ACU. A close source of Mushfiq told barta24.com ACU had wanted to know from Mushfiq whether any cricket gambler telephoned him or not.

Mushfiq had informed the ACU in negative and told that he did not receive any such call.

ACU then as an extra measure took the cell phone of Mushfiq and checked the call list of his phone. Then the ACU had become confirmed that no call came to Mushfiq’s phone.

At that time Shakib denied to ACU about any gambler’s phone call but when ACU presented his call list, and then Shakib admitted it as a ‘mistake’ as he did not want to give importance on it. But it was too late to admit.

According to the rules of match fixing laid by the ICC that any player if he gets any proposal of match fixing then he must inform his concerned board or ACU of ICC. Shakib committed great blunder for not informing either BCB or ACU.

So the International ban is now hanging on Shakib’s head as a ‘Damocles Sword’.
