Shakib Al Hassan- the ace all rounder of Bangladesh became head lines of world media on many occasions. Even he also became head lines for the incidents occurred outside the ground. But this time Shakib has fallen in hot water.
He is going to be banned temporarily for not reporting to ICC about the matter of proposal of the cricket gambler. The over all situation tells that the best all rounder of the world is going to be in real danger.
In the rules of ICC there is clear instruction that if there is any proposal of match fixing then he must inform it to the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit watch dog of ICC. If any body fails to do then it will be considered as a big offence. Highest punishment is 5 year ban on him from all types of cricket. The minimum punishment is six months ban on him.
What will be the verdict against Shakib for this mistake – BCB and whole country are waiting for it. In the morning it was smelt at BCB office that the country is awaiting something ‘Unpleasant’. Till 12 noon no director of BCB came to office. But the office is full of gathering. All known journalists are worried! Some are walking, some are talking but a grave silence is prevailing everywhere.
It was clearly understood that something ‘Unpleasant’ is going to be occurred here.
At mid noon BCB boss Nazmul Hassan Papon, and some directors reached the board office. There was a rush of the photo journalists to set the right frame of their camera. Board president along with his colleagues sat in an unscheduled meeting.
On October 30 evening Bangladesh team is supposed to start for Delhi to play first T20I. But on Tuesday even it could not be known who are in the team and who will lead the team!
Only sure thing is that Shakib is not going. But there is no official announcement. The country’s cricket never experienced such uncertainty! Every body is suffering from indecision. The journalists cannot understand what will be the update of the news story today? Some are rushing towards Shakib’s residence in Banani DOHS. Shakib goes out of his residence with his car but returns afterwards. But the captain of Bangladesh T20I and ODI was not in the mood of talking to any body.
He was also in unending wait! He is waiting for the verdict of a mistake committed two years back!
