A single mistake has cost Shakib many things. Not to play any cricket in the coming year will be his biggest loss. He got a great mental shock. Simultaneously he is going to incur financially to a great extent. The cause of earning fall is due to not play any type of cricket. Shakib has resigned from the cricket committee of dignified Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) as soon as he was banned from International cricket for two years. He will have to leave many such cricket positions.
Shakib is one of the top grade contractual cricketers of BCB. He used to get the salary of Taka 4 lakh per month from BCB. That contract stands automatically cancelled as soon as the ban was slapped.
Because, Shakib cannot play cricket of any format for next one year. So his previous contracts stand cancelled. ICC has informed in clear language that Shakib cannot be involved in any kind of competitive cricket. So his contract with BCB stands automatically cancelled.
BCB chief Executive Nizamuddin Sujan told Barta24.com that according to rules it is supposed to be cancelled from October 29. However, I cannot say any more because BCB is yet to announce the decision, said the CE. He made this ‘safe’ comment from his own position. However, the contract will be cancelled either today or tomorrow.
BCB team operations chairman Akram Khan also informed that, the rule is such – the contract with BCB of Shakib will not remain effective.
The number of contractual cricketers of BCB is now 18. This contract will expire in December. In the next January there will be fresh contracts. In the new list it is sure that one name will be dropped – that is of Shakib whose name was on the top of the contractual cricket players of Bangladesh so long.
