Sourav will be present in Bangabandhu’s birth centenary in Dhaka

Kolkata(India): The ‘blue eyed boy’ of Cricket India, dashing opener, successful captain and  presently holding the most coveted post of the president of BCCI Sourav Ganguly will remain present in the upcoming functions to be arranged in connection with the celebration of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina rushed to Eden Gardens, Kolkata at the invitation of Sourav Ganguly to inaugurate and watch the first day-night cricket Test match with pink ball in South Asia. Now the BCCI chief Sourav, who is also a well wisher of Bangladesh cricket, would come to Dhaka in the ensuing birth centenary function at the return invitation of PM Sheikh Hasina. ‘The Prince of Calcutta’ named by famous English batsman & also running commentator Geoffrey Boycott, Sourav will come to Dhaka in 2020 to take part in special cricket festival.  

On Saturday (Nov.23) Sourav told the journalists about this. He also extended his thanks to PM Sheikh Hasina.

Sourav Ganguly told that, ‘Heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina. She just came whenever I requested her for once. I have longtime relations with her. When first Test match was held at Dhaka in 2000 then she was the Prime Minister, a relation was set up then.’ 

As part of that old relation she came to Kolkata in the first day night Test match to inaugurate it where Bangladesh and India are playing with pink ball. 

He disclosed that he would come to Dhaka where two special cricket matches will be played in the birth centenary of Bangabandhu. The matches will be played against World Eleven. Sourav will be there in that festival. 

The BCCI chief in his observation thinks that as the Bangladesh team has been playing without some vital players so they are failing to show up their standards.   

This West Bengal cricket star, now BCCI chief all through has interests about Bangladesh cricket. Now for his new responsibilities, the course of cricket in South Asia is like to get a new direction. Due to his initiative the first day night match with pink ball has been introduced which was once rejected by BCCI when Australia had proposed.
