CPA incurs huge loss due to Fani
Chattogram: A loss of Taka one thousand crore was estimated to Chattogram port authority(CPA)and customs house due to the impact of cyclonic storm Fani. From Thursday(May 2) to Saturday (May 4)covering a time span of 72 hours the loss was incurred to both CPA and customs separately. However the officials do not consider it as loss but they view it as just they have lagged behind three days in revenue income.
According to the statistics of last three months the Chattogram customs house earns Taka 35000.00 crore as revenue. On that basis the customs house earns Taka one hundred crore daily.
On the other hand when a ship anchors at the outer anchorage supplying of fuel, water, berthing, container handling, charge of the ship, container charge gives an income of Taka two hundred crore daily.
