Human traffickers playing fraud with unemployed and low income people
Dhaka: Few agencies of human trafficking net work have been playing fraud with low income and unemployed youths to go to the European countries luring them to high salary their. Their agents are collecting Taka 8 lakh on an average from these sections of youths with the lure of high income.
Rab spokesman Mufti Mahmud Khan gave this information on Friday(May 17) after arresting three fraud traffickers in connection with the boat capsize in the Mediterranean sea when at least 25 Bangladeshi unfortunates were killed.
Mufti Mahmud Khan told quoting the arrested three agents of the human trafficking gang after interrogating them. Giving false promises they have been doing this fraud game taking huge amount from them. The traffickers with their connection abroad are doing this, the Rab spokesman said.
Rab spokesman said that the agents are taking Taka 5 lakh in the first installment from the potential trafficked one before sending them to Libya. After the trafficked persons reached Libya the traffickers are taking the rest from the relatives of the victims.
Rab spokesman said that there are 5/6 such agencies who are operating here. We have arrested three of two agencies.
The Rab spokesman quoting the arrested said that on last May 9 while going to Italy a boat sank carrying 80/90 people were missing in the coast of Tunisia. Among the missing 39 were Bangladeshis. Of them 14 Bangladeshis were rescued alive. Of the total 39 missing three were among these two agencies nabbed.
Detailing the route of the traffickers Rab spokesman said that the potential trafficked are first sent to Libya from Bangladesh. They generally use three routes. First they are taken to Kolkata by bus. From Kolkata they are flown to Delhi by air. From Delhi they are sent to Sri Lanka.
At Sri Lanka they are to stay few days at the disposal of the network. Then after some days they are flown to Tripoli, Libya with a transit of Istanbul of Turkey.
After the victims reach Tripoli they are received by one ‘Good Luck brother’ and few of his accomplices. During this time the traffickers’ agents collect the rest amount from the relatives of the victims. Then they are sent by sea by boat. In this risky journey accidents occurs frequently killing or missing a large number of fortune seekers.
Earlier Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members arrested three members of the human trafficking networks from different parts of the city after intensive raids. The arrested are Enamul Haque Talukdar, Mohammad Akkas Matubbar and Abdur Razzak Bhuiyan.
