Biman’s Hajj flight ticket sale begins
The selling of tickets of Hajj flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines begins on Monday (May20).
According to official sources, about one lakh 27 thousand 198 pilgrims are likely to perform Hajj this year. Of them Biman will carry 63 thousand 599 pilgrims to and from Saudi Arabia.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate Hajj flights from July 4 of this year. Besides, 10 flights from Chattogram to Jeddah, 4 flights from Sylhet to Jeddah and 7 dedicated flights from Chattogram to Medina will be operated. The rest 126 flights will be operated from Dhaka to Jeddah.
Biman will use Boeing 777-300 ER in operating Hajj flights. The return flights will begin from August 17 and will continue till September 14.
For the first time the immigration of pilgrims will be done at Dhaka. So the pilgrims will do not need immigration in Saudi Arabia bringing an end to a long standing hassle to the pilgrims. However for this reason the information of the pilgrims will be required to send Saudi Arabia before 24 hours of the departure. After that no new passenger will be allowed to travel.
For this reason the Hajj agents and the pilgrims must give their information 24 hours ahead of their travel. The Saudi authority will not allow any excess slot other than the prefixed schedule. To avoid complications the Biman will collect fine from the pilgrims if any one cancels flight or change the travel schedule. Such pilgrims will have to pay 350 US for dollar for cancelling flights and for changing flight schedule one has to pay 200 to 300 US dollar.
For operating Hajj flights without any hazards all preparations have been taken. There will be no problem if the Hajj agencies and pilgrims collect their tickets in time.
