Sheikh Hasina instructs party workers to look Fani stricken people

Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina now staying in London instructed all party workers to go to the cyclone Fani affected areas with relief goods for succor.

On Saturday (May 4) evening the Prime Minister gave this instruction over telephone to the leaders at Dhanmondi party office.

Awami League joint secretary general Jahangir Kanir Nanak and organizing secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim talked to the Prime Minister. Sheikh Hasina wanted to know the updated news of the damage and the loss slapped by the furious cyclonic storm Fani. She acknowledged ‘Shukria’ to the Almighty Allah for the minimum damage caused by Fani.

The Prime Minister instructed to see that no one remains unfed or half fed in the affected areas. She also instructed to carry on rescue operation by the government departments and if necessary the Armed Forces, Air Force be deployed. She advised the party workers to move quickly to the affected areas with relief goods.

Sheikh Hasina said, ‘You must stand beside the affected people. You must come forward from your respective position.’ The Prime Minister was informed that the Fani was monitored by the party simultaneously with the administration. The leaders also expressed gratitude for minimum damage caused by the Fani.

Among others central leaders Liberation Affairs secretary Mrinal Kanti Das, Cultural secretary Asim Kumer Ukil, Relief secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Information secretary Afzal Hossain, central leader SM Kamal Hossain were present at this time.

It may be mentioned here that the Prime Minister left for London on May 1  morning on a 10 day visit.
