Insufficient relief make flood victims life vulnerable: Fakhrul
The flood victims across the country are suffering from food, drinking water crisis as the government failed to provide sufficient relief materials, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam said.
The BNP leader made the statement while distributing relief materials to the flood victims at Parulia village in Hatibandha upazila of Lalmonirhat.
“Awami League-led government never think for the people and it’s already proved,” Fakhrul said.
They failed to get any fair deal of Teesta issue, and Teesta is the matter of sorrow for the people living in the riverside areas,” he said.
Mirza Fakhrul criticized the government for ignoring people’s sufferings at a relief material distribution event.
BNP distributed relief materials among two thousand flood victims in the Teesta shoal areas of Parulia village under Hatibandha upazila and Gobordhan village under Aditmari upazila.
During the relief distribution, BNP’s Permanent Committee member and relief coordinator Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Joint Secretary Alal Hossain, Rangpur Divisional Organising Secretary and Lalmonirhat District BNP President Asadul Habib Dulu, and Executive Committee member Hasan Rajib Prodhan were present among other central leaders and members.
