Inflation will come under control soon: Finance Minister

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal told the Jatiyo Sangsad(JS) that due to the steps taken by the government, inflation will be brought under control soon. He said, balance of trade, situation will improve and exchange rate of foreign currency will stabilize.

The Finance Minister gave this information in response to the question of Mamataz Begum, a member of parliament of the ruling party in the JS on Monday. Speaker Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury presided over the question and answer session. The Finance Minister said that the government has taken various plans to control inflation, balance the trade, improve the situation and stabilize the exchange rate of foreign currency and is implementing them.

At this time, he presented several steps in the parliament. Among these, market-based exchange rate of money with other foreign currencies including the US dollar; Ensuring import of goods at right price for reserve reconstruction; Reducing foreign exchange holding limits in commercial banks; Obligation to show source of expatriate income exceeding five thousand dollars is abolished; Expediting the disbursement of foreign financing in the pipeline.
