‘China did not cross our border’ – PM Modi
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that no Indian territory has been occupied by China or any intrusion happened in the Galwan valley of Ladakh.
He made the remarks at an all-party virtual meeting held on Friday (June 19) on the border clashes with the Chinese PLA on Ladakh LAC (border).
Narendra Modi said, no one has intruded into our border, our camp is intact. Indian soldiers have given proper reply to the aggressive Chinese.
The Indian Prime Minister met leaders of 20 Indian political parties on Friday. He was accompanied by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah.
At the beginning of the meeting, Congress President Sonia Gandhi asked Prime Minister Modi a volley of questions about the situation in Ladakh. Sonia demanded that the opposition be informed about the actual situation in Ladakh every week.
However, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has always been critical of the central government, lent her support to the government at the meeting. She said a message of unity from the meeting reached across the country. This message was spread all over the country in support of the soldiers.
During the meeting Narendra Modi said, I want to assure you that our forces will not do anything wrong to protect our country. We have the capability that no one can occupy even an inch of land in our region.
The Indian prime minister added that the whole country was outraged by what China had done along the LAC. The Indian Army is ready to defend the country in water, land and air everywhere. China has been informed at the diplomatic level that India wants peace. But it will not hesitate to take any step to protect its sovereignty.
Referring to the deaths of 20 Indian Army personnel in the clashes, Modi said, twenty of our brave soldiers have been martyred in Ladakh; but our jawans have given a befitting reply to the Chinese aggressors who were eyeing on Bharatmata.
