101 Bangladeshis deported by USA returns on Saturday
The United States has deported 101 Bangladeshis, including women. They were flown back to Dhaka on a special US flight at 12 noon on Saturday (September 5).
After all the formalities at the airport, after 4 pm, they started to leave one by one with some daily needs items contained inside plastic bags. The name of the worker and the travel pass number were written on each bag. Most of the returnees are young in age.
BRAC's head of immigration program Shariful Hasan said, we have learned that these workers went to the United States through different countries at a cost of about Taka 25 to 30 lakh each. But they were arrested by US Homeland Security on charges of illegal entry.
After being in deportation camps for various periods, they were sent back on a special plane today. Earlier such illegal workers have returned from the United States at various times.
