Bangladesh urges India to lift ban on onion export
Bangladesh has called for lifting the Indian ban on exporting onion to Bangladesh.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam told reporters on Tuesday (September 15).
The state minister for foreign affairs said the Bangladesh High Commissioner in New Delhi has called for revoking India's order to stop onion exports. He said India has stopped exporting onions without any prior notice like last year.
He said the unwritten word between the two countries was that India would continue to export onions to Bangladesh. If there is any change, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs will inform us in advance as we is a friendly country having such an agreement.
We requested that this decision be reversed very soon. I hope to get a good result.
