Antigen test to start from next month
Antigen tests of corona will begin in the country from next month, said the Additional Director General of the Directorate of Health Mirzadi Sebrina Flora. She made the remarks at a program titled 'Covid-19 and Health Update Information Meeting' on Wednesday (November 25).
Professor Sebrina Flora said it was too late to start antigen testing because it was not sure which antigen kit was best or effective. Although the effectiveness tests of the two kits approved by the World Health Organization have already been completed. It will start in 10 districts from next month. Where RT-PCR testing is not available and infection detection rates are high, the test will be introduced, she said.
She further said that if there are no signs and symptoms in the antigen test, there is a risk of false negatives. Those who test positive will be diagnosed. Incidentally, the Directorate of Drug Administration formulated the antigen policy more than three months ago. The approval was given on September 17. But so far the antigen test has not started.
