‘There are 7 thousand vaccinator ready in the country now’
Health Minister Zahid Malek said the vaccine would be provided from government hospitals across the country. Arrangements have been made to keep about 4 lakh 25 thousand doses of vaccine in the cold room stored in each district level hospital. In addition, each hospital has 5-10 ice freezers where at least 71,000 doses of vaccine can be kept.
About 42,000 health workers are being trained to provide vaccines. Initially, 7,344 teams have been involved in providing vaccines across the country. Each team will have 6 health workers.
He made the remarks to the media after a meeting at the Ministry of Health on Thursday (January 14) afternoon.
The health minister said the government has arrangements to keep at least 14-15 crore vaccine doses in the country. Therefore, if 4-5 crore vaccines are released in the country, there will be no problem in administering them properly.
The Department of Drug Administration of the country will strictly monitor to ensure that there are no irregularities in the delivery of vaccines. The health minister also mentioned that regular vaccine bulletins would be disseminated through the health department so that people could know all the information about the vaccine quickly.
In addition, about 42,000 health workers are being trained to administer the vaccine. Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek also mentioned that an app related to vaccine delivery is in the final stages of development through the Ministry of ICT. At the same time, once the government starts providing vaccines, the internationally recognized big private responsible organizations of the country will also be able to provide conditional vaccines, he said.
Secretary of the Dvision of Health Education and Family Welfare Md. Ali Noor was present during the briefing. Director General of Health Abul Basar Mohammad Khurshid Alam and other senior officials were present with the health minister.
