‘Pourashava elections in third phase were also fair and peaceful’
In the third phase, the pourashava election has been fair and peaceful, said the senior secretary of the Election Commission (EC)Md. Alamgir. "There were problems in only two centers today," he said. Besides, fair elections have been held in all the centers. Now the counting of votes is going on. The results have already been announced unofficially in many centers.
The EC secretary told reporters at the election building in the capital's Agargaon on Saturday (January 30) evening.
Asked about the turnout in the third phase, the EC secretary said, "We hope that the average turnout will not be below 60 per cent." However, 60-70 percent of the votes can be cast.
