Students will be able to apply for the admission test for the academic year 2020-21 from April 1 to April 15. The test will start from June 19. All students with minimum qualifications will be able to apply early.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the core committee comprising vice-chancellors held at the meeting room of the vice-chancellor of Jagannath University on Monday (March 8) at 12 noon.

According to the meeting sources, students do not have to pay any fee for the initial application in the cluster admission system. Students who have passed HSC / Alim and equivalent examinations in 2019 or 2020 can apply.

Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 8.0 for Science, a minimum GPA of 7.5 for Commerce and a minimum GPA of 7.0 for Humanities. However, each branch must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the SSC and HSC examinations. Only for this year, students who have passed HSC in 2019 and 2020 will be able to participate in the admission test.

Students who have passed the previous year i.e. second timer will not be able to apply from next year. The results of the students who are eligible to participate in the admission test on the basis of merit from among the initial applicants will be informed automatically through the message on 23rd April.

In the cluster public universities, as many students as there are opportunities to take the examination at the same time will be given the opportunity to make the final application on the basis of merit. Initially selected students have to make a final application for participation in the admission test between 24th April to 20th May by depositing Tk.500/- (Five Hundred) through Mobile Banking Service. All tests will start at 12 noon at the specified test center simultaneously. A student can select at least 5 test centers.

Students who have passed in 2019 will not be able to choose the educational institution they are currently studying as a 'center'. If necessary, the test may have to be given outside the selected specific center. Applicants can download the admit card from June 1 to June 10. Admission test will start from 19th June. Detailed information of the admission test will be communicated to the admission related web site (www.gstadmission.org and www.gstadmission.ac.bd) and the national daily through notification.
