Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the people not to go home to celebrate upcoming Eid and celebrate the festival where people currently reside in a bid to contain corona infection in the country.

She said, "Don't travel to the village home taking risk of life. You can meet relatives and dear ones if you live during this pandemic. Celebrate Eid where you are staying right now. Rich people please help the poor and distressed during the crisis."

Sheikh Hasina made the urge while inaugurating various infrastructures and watercrafts under the shipping ministry through video conference from her official residence Ganobhaban on Thursday (May 6).

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury was present at that time.

Urging the people to keep them protected from coronavirus the prime minister said, "I am requesting you to maintain health safety guidelines as corona infection can't spread all over the country. Don't travel without emergency work. It may increase the risk of corona infection to you and others. We have limited travel in order to save the lives of the people."

Sheikh Hasina expressed her deep grief at the naval accidents and stressed on to ensure safety measures both from vehicle owners and passengers.
