'Bangladesh to decide its own foreign policy'- Zahid Malik

Initially, the Bangladesh government wants to buy 4 to 5 crore doses of corona vaccine from China. Health Minister Zahid Malik made the remarks at a ceremony to present corona items to Nepal at the state guest house Padma on Tuesday (May 11).
 
"China has asked us to pay for the vaccine trial in Bangladesh, which is rare in the world," he said. But then Bangladesh informed that the vaccine will be bought from them later.
 
Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen was also present at that time.
 
Replying to a question, the Health Minister said, "Our foreign policy, we will decide, we do not care what the Chinese ambassador said."
 
Chinese Ambassador to 
Bangladesh Li Jimming said at a virtual dialogue on Monday (May 10) that China-Bangladesh relations would deteriorate if Bangldesh joins  United States led military alliance Quad. The United States, Japan, Australia and India are members of the alliance.
