Covid-19 lockdown extended till June 16

The government extended the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions across the country till June 16.

Cabinet division issued a gazette notification in this regard on Sunday (June 6).

As per the notice, the government has prohibited gatherings at tourist spots, resorts and community centers during the period.

It has asked not to hold any social, political and religious programs to avert public gatherings across the country.

Restaurants can serve food at half capacity between 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, it added.

Public transports can also run with 50 per cent of their seating capacity and maintaining the proper health guidelines.

The government imposed a nationwide lockdown on April 5 which was later extended in several phases until June 6 midnight to contain a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
